Subject: Homeland Security – Yellow Alert

New York State is now at a Yellow Alert Level (Elevated). New York City remains at Orange Alert (High).

All New York State colleges, universities and non-degree granting proprietary schools outside of New York City should maintain security precautions and situational awareness in accordance with the recommendations for the Yellow Alert Level, summarized below. Institutions in New York City should continue to maintain security at Orange Level 2.
 

Orange Level 2 (New York City)
  •  Increase surveillance
     
  • Consider restricting parking near building
     
  • Review building use permits
     
  • Confer with authorities for further action
     
  • Consider postponing field trips to certain locations
     
  • Heightened scrutiny of off-campus activities
     
  • Limit access to facilities
     
  • Review facility use
Yellow (Outside NYC)
  • Increase surveillance
     
  • Consider restricting parking near building
     
  • Review building use permits
     
  • Confer with authorities for further action
